On Tuesday 19th December 2017 we headed to Shinjuku Bus Station in Tokyo to get a 8:55am bus to Kawaguchiko Station which is at the bottom of the magnificent Mount Fuji. An icon in Japan, we had to make the pilgrimage ourselves and were lucky enough to enjoy crisp and stunning blue skies. Honestly, I don’t think we could have asked for a clearer day to see Mount Fuji, we were thrilled.
Equipped with our jam sandwiches (Niall’s first ever which I still can’t believe!) we walked around the giant lake that sits at the foot of the mountain and offers different views of Mount Fuji as you walk around it. We had until around 4pm when our bus would take us back to Tokyo which was plenty of time to walk around. It was a really nice, chilled day with a stunning view.
